Cassia leaf oil / Cinnamon leaf oil

is obtained by water steam distillation of the leaves, twigs and bark of the cinnamon cassia. The seperation of water and essential oil takes place during the cooling down process, because of the non-miscibility of the two substances. The yield with this methode is between 0.5 % and 1.9 %. The cinnamon cassia, also known as cinnamon tree, has its origin in South China. The cassia is not a real cinnamon, but a seasoning.
