Pyroglutamic acid

Pyroglutamic acid

is a derivative of the glutamic acid. By heating up the mixture of equal weithings of glutamic acid and water in an autoclave, at a reaction temperature of 135 °C - 140 °C, by dehydration, pyroglutamic acid is obtained.
